At Room Nine we value not only our school community, but the larger community, as well. We participate in several programs that offer assistance to those in need, and help improve our community. Volunteers are always needed for these programs.
The WORKS
The WORKS clothing room provides high quality, clean, gently used children’s and teen clothing to Shoreline School District families experiencing circumstances that make it challenging to clothe their children for school.
Hours & Location:
The WORKS is open to Shoreline School District families Wednesday evenings during the school year from 6:30-8:00 PM. Identification is required and can be a Washington State Drivers License or ID or Shoreline School ID.
The WORKS clothing room is located in the north portable at North City Elementary, 810 NE 190th Street, Shoreline.

Food and Gift Drive
This is a collaborative effort of all district PTA’s to provide both a complete holiday meal and winter break food support. PTA’s also partner with the Fire Department to provide at least 1 quality toy for each child.
See Food Drive Flyer.
Teen Gift Drive
We’re also collecting new gift donations for teens, such as gift cards, CD’s, books, cosmetic kits, clothes and hand-held games. Gift donations should not be wrapped. Monetary donations are also accepted. (Checks should be payable to Shoreline PTA Council 6.12 – note “holiday baskets”).]
See Teen Gift Flyer.
Many volunteers are needed to sort and box up food donations.
Embrace Shoreline Schools
Embrace Shoreline Schools is a biannual event (spring and fall) sponsored by a coalition of local churches, the school district, PTA’s, neighborhoods, and our cities Lake Forest Park and Shoreline, to beautify our Shoreline School District properties.
Room Nine students, parents, and staff participate in this great community event!
