It was a fabulous first week back at school at Room Nine!
The first day found the teachers standing in front of the Welcome Back banner at the front door. Many smiling faces were seen throughout the halls and classrooms. Families gathered outside the classrooms at the start of the day and then with each other enjoying coffee, tea, treats and sympathy in the Community room! New families were welcomed by returning families and old friends met up for conversation about their summers.
The Journey students had a lot to share about their summers including their two STEAM projects they completed. Solar-powered hot dog cookers and pop fly launchers were found in the classroom. STEAM (Science Technology Engineering Arts and Mathematics) is already on its way to allowing our older students to think critically and solve problems through hands on projects! I can’t wait to see what else is on the horizon for these kids…
Fall camp is coming up soon. It’s always great to see the entire K-8 environment together. The younger kids really love doing activities with the older kids and the planned educational activities plus free time is a great mix for everyone. Our families are looking forward to this yearly event and gathering of the Community.
